A Visit to Heaven

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ” This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.”

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here , the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.”

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing.

“This is the Acknowledgment Section, ” my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed.”How is it that there’s no work going on here?” I asked. “So sad,” the angel sighed. “After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

“How does one acknowledge God’s blessings?” I asked. “Simple,” the angel answered. “Just say, ” Thank you, Lord.”

“What blessings should they acknowledge?” I asked.

“If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep … You are richer than 75% of this world .

“If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. “And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.”

Also ……

“If you woke up this morning with more health than illness …… You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. “If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .. You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

“If you can attend a place of worship without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death … You are envied by, and more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

When you thought……..

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking

(A message every parent or adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say .)

When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

*********

When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it’s all right to cry.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I felt you kiss me good night. I felt loved and safe.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don’t.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

*********
When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I learned most of life’s lessons that I need to know from you–how to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

*********

When you thought I wasn’t looking,

I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking .”

Why English Is So Difficult

We’ll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes;

But the plural of ox became oxen not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,

Yet the plural of moose should never be meese.

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice;

Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,

Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen?

If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet,

And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?

If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,

Why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be that, and three would be those,

Yet hat in the plural would never be hose,

And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.

We speak of a brother and also of brethren,

But though we say mother we never say methren.

Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him,

But imagine the feminine, she, shis and shim.
